Other than expecting an antivirus to effectively protecting a computer from malicious software and websites, it is also equally important that an antivirus software does not cause the computer to slow down to a crawl. However, Trend Micro has the 2nd most number of false positives that wrongly blocked clean domains or files and that caused the automatic downgrade to the Advanced award level, or else they’d have easily achieved the highest Advanced+ award. Trend Micro seems to do very well in the most recent (July 2015) real world protection test performed by AV-Comparatives by blocking 99.7% of computer threats, taking the third place together with Kaspersky and Avira. As far as we know, Trend Micro started adding the word “Titanium” to their product names when their cloud-based global threat intelligence was integrated into the software and advertised as a fully cloud based antivirus without relying on offline virus patterns. If you haven’t noticed, their product title no longer carries the word “Titanium”.
The current 2016 version of Trend Micro Antivirus is at version 10 and it is known as Trend Micro Antivirus+ 10. PC-cillin is now known as Trend Micro and just like any other antivirus company, they too offer several different paid subscription products such as basic antivirus, Internet security with firewall, and maximum/premium security with additional privacy protection, mobile device protection, and even system optimization modules. It was one of the very few pieces of antivirus software available for the Windows computer because back then there weren’t many computer viruses and the available ones weren’t that advanced if compared to the current malware that uses rootkit technology to stay undetected. I understand that 435T's with Win7 preinstalled are now shipping with McAfee 2010 which is Win7 compatible.Any person who has started using a computer since Windows 95 would have at least heard of an antivirus software called PC-cillin. Meanwhile, I am without a virus scanner and my 15-month subscription to Trend Micro ticks away uselessly.
I asked for the phone number of Customer Care at which point he said hang on a minute and the chat session was dropped. The former told me tech support could not provide me with any kind of software and the latter said it was a customer care issue.
Spent some "quality time" with Dell's Tech support and on-call departments via online chat.

I went to Trend Micro's web site and downloaded the compatible version (2010) but my serial number would not work with it (even though my subscription is still valid for almost a year) because it said the serial number had to be used with a Dell version of Trend Micro. I tried to reinstall Trend Micro with the CD that came with my Dell but of course it immediately said it was not compatible.

When the Win7 upgrade was done, Upgrade Assistant upgraded Internet Explorer and a few other programs but it did not reinstall or upgrade Trend Micro. I just finished my upgrade from Vista 64 to Win7 64 and have the same problem. When I began my Win7 upgrade, the Upgrade Assistant told me that Windows 7 is incompatible with the Trend Micro Internet Security (15-month subscription) that came with my 435T and that I had to uninstall it.
